RefurbHub 3-Month Warranty Policy

Effective Date: 24 August 2026

At RefurbHub, every refurbished product is inspected and tested before being sold. To give our customers additional peace of mind, qualifying refurbished products are supplied with a 3-month limited warranty from the date of delivery or collection.

1. Warranty Period

All products sold with a RefurbHub warranty are covered for 3 months from the date the customer receives or collects the product, unless a different warranty period is specifically stated on the product listing or invoice.

The warranty applies to faults that arise during normal and reasonable use of the product.

2. What the Warranty Covers

The warranty covers genuine hardware or functional defects that were not caused by the customer.

Depending on the nature of the fault, RefurbHub may, at its reasonable discretion and subject to applicable consumer law:

  • Repair the product;

  • Replace the faulty component;

  • Provide a replacement product of the same or equivalent specification, where reasonably available; or

  • Provide an appropriate refund or other remedy where required by applicable law.

Where a replacement is provided, the replacement may be a refurbished product of the same or equivalent specification.

3. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by:

  • Accidental damage;

  • Drops, impacts, crushing or other physical damage;

  • Liquid, water or moisture damage;

  • Electrical surges, incorrect voltage or power-related damage;

  • Incorrect chargers, adapters, cables or accessories;

  • Improper installation, modification or repair;

  • Opening, dismantling or tampering with the product;

  • Damage caused by unauthorised technicians or third-party repairs;

  • Negligent, abusive or abnormal use;

  • Damage caused by viruses, malware or unauthorised software where the underlying hardware is not defective;

  • Damage caused by using the product contrary to the manufacturer’s intended use;

  • Normal wear and tear;

  • Cosmetic marks, scratches or signs of previous use that were disclosed or reasonably expected for a refurbished product;

  • Consumable items or components that naturally deteriorate through normal use, unless the component itself is defective; or

  • Loss or damage to customer data, files, software or other digital content.

The warranty does not guarantee that a product will meet a customer’s particular personal, professional, gaming or software requirements unless those requirements were specifically represented as part of the product’s specifications.

4. Refurbished Product Condition

Refurbished products are previously owned or used products that have undergone inspection, testing and, where applicable, repair or replacement of components.

Customers should expect reasonable signs of previous use depending on the condition grade of the product.

Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the functionality of the product are not automatically considered warranty defects.

Any material cosmetic defects or known functional limitations that are specifically disclosed on the product listing will not be treated as undisclosed defects.

5. Making a Warranty Claim

Customers wishing to make a warranty claim should contact RefurbHub as soon as the suspected fault is discovered.

The customer may be required to provide:

  • Order or invoice number;

  • Customer name and contact details;

  • Description of the fault;

  • Photographs or videos showing the issue, where applicable; and

  • Any other reasonable information required to assess the claim.

RefurbHub may require the product to be returned for inspection and testing before determining the appropriate remedy.

6. Warranty Inspection

Products returned under warranty may be inspected and tested by a RefurbHub authorised technician.

If testing confirms that the fault is covered by the warranty, RefurbHub will proceed with an appropriate remedy in accordance with this policy and applicable consumer law.

If inspection establishes that the fault was caused by accidental damage, misuse, liquid damage, tampering, unauthorised repairs or another exclusion listed in this policy, the warranty claim may be declined.

Where a warranty claim is declined because the fault is not covered, the customer may be responsible for reasonable return, inspection or repair costs where permitted by law and where such costs have been communicated to the customer.

7. Data and Personal Information

Customers are responsible for backing up their data before sending a product for repair, replacement or inspection.

RefurbHub is not responsible for loss of personal files, photographs, documents, accounts, software or other data during the warranty process.

Customers should remove personal accounts, passwords and sensitive information from devices before returning them whenever reasonably possible.

8. Shipping and Returns Under Warranty

Where a confirmed warranty defect requires the product to be returned, RefurbHub will provide reasonable instructions regarding the return process.

The treatment of shipping and collection costs will depend on the circumstances of the claim and applicable consumer law.

Customers should not send products to RefurbHub without first receiving return instructions.

9. Consumer Rights

This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not replace or limit, any rights the customer may have under applicable South African consumer-protection legislation.

Nothing in this warranty is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any statutory right that cannot legally be excluded or waived.

10. Contact

For warranty claims or assistance, customers should contact RefurbHub using the contact details displayed on our website.

RefurbHub reserves the right to update this warranty policy from time to time. The version applicable to a purchase will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the terms provided to the customer at the time of purchase.
